The Apax Mips is an off-road all-rounder and one of the lightest helmets in its category. The Run System Ergo Flex, combined with Hi-EPS and Mips, ensures maximum comfort and safety. The adjustment system features a delicate construction and evenly secures the helmet to the head in a 360-degree circumference. A bicycle helmet cannot be adjusted more individually, smoothly, or comfortably. Another plus for comfort: the removable padding. With it, you always have a comfortable wearing experience - no matter how hot it gets off-road. The low weight of the Apax Mips is due to the Inmold manufacturing process, in which the outer shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This creates a solid surface connection, which is responsible for a very stable construction. The bottom edge of the helmet is protected by another polycarbonate shell. Thanks to the Seamless Connection, it nestles seamlessly against the outer shell. For the highest possible safety on rough trails, the rear and temple areas are pulled down further. This creates even greater head coverage. In the event of a crash with an angled impact, Mips is designed to help reduce rotational forces acting on the head. Large ventilation openings allow for optimal ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head, and the height-adjustable visor guarantees additional protection in the field of vision.
· Optimal protection off-road thanks to the lower-pulled helmet rear and temple area
· Mips is designed to reduce rotational forces in accidents with angled impact
· Individually adjustable for maximum comfort thanks to the smooth-running Run System Ergo Flex
· Height-adjustable visor
· The integrated fly screen reliably keeps insects away
Airflow Venting
One factor that strongly influences wearing comfort is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the ventilation openings is crucial for optimal ventilation and de-ventilation of the interior. Air is guided purposefully into the interior, along the head, and can flow out again at the rear. The head is thus always pleasantly air-conditioned.
Ceramic Shell
All Alpina helmets manufactured using the Inmold process receive a robust Ceramic Shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched to the shape of the future helmet under strong heat and pressed with high pressure onto the Hi-EPS body and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic Shell is characterized by several qualities: it is break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable, and antistatic.
Edge Protect
Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that refines Inmold helmets. It covers edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the longevity of the helmet.
Ergomatic
Proven hundreds of thousands of times and used in all Alpina helmets: the buckle with the red push button and multi-stage automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap uphill, tighten it downhill - and in the event of a fall, it is not possible for the locking mechanism to open by itself.
Hi EPS
The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces that act on the helmet during an impact. Hi-EPS ensures optimal protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin wall thicknesses and narrow helmet shapes.
Inmold
In the Inmold production process, the polycarbonate outer shell of the helmet is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under great heat and high pressure. This creates a large-area and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shells. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
MIPS
MIPS is a system that protects against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements during an impact. The low-friction insert allows a sliding movement of 10-15 mm in all directions, thus reducing rotational movement in a fall. MIPS thus offers additional protection.
Run System Ergo Flex
The Run System allows the size of all Alpina helmets to be individually adjusted via a smooth-running dial. The Run System Ergo Flex is Alpina's lightest and most comfortable adjustment system. The delicate construction nestles evenly against the head, thereby increasing protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted via a fine grid - a helmet cannot be adjusted more individually, smoothly, or comfortably.
Run System Ergo Flex Mips
The first adjustment system with integrated MIPS. The RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX MIPS offers an individual, height-adjustable helmet adjustment. This combination not only increases comfort but also ensures additional safety in impacts with rotational forces.
Y-Clip
A helmet can only protect optimally if it remains in the ideal position during an impact. The adjustment and fixation of the two chin straps under the ear play a crucial role in this. The Y-Clip system guarantees millimeter-precise adjustment - in
