Adjustable size
Size M = head circumference 52-57 cm
Size L = head circumference 57-62 cm
The Apax Mips is an off-road all-rounder and one of the lightest helmets in its category. The Run System Ergo Flex, in combination with Hi-EPS and Mips, ensures maximum comfort and safety. The adjustment system impresses with its delicate construction and secures the helmet evenly around the head in a 360-degree radius. A bicycle helmet cannot be adjusted more individually, smoothly, or comfortably. Another plus for comfort: the removable padding. With it, you always have a comfortable feel - no matter how hot it gets off-road. The low weight of the Apax Mips is due to the Inmold manufacturing process, where the outer shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This results in a strong surface connection, which is responsible for a very stable construction. The lower edge of the helmet is protected by an additional polycarbonate shell. Thanks to the Seamless Connection, it nestles seamlessly against the outer shell. For the highest possible safety on rough trails, the back and temple areas are pulled further down, creating even greater head coverage. In the event of an impact with an oblique collision, Mips is designed to help reduce rotational forces acting on the head. Large ventilation openings allow for optimal ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head, and the height-adjustable visor guarantees additional protection in the field of vision.
· Optimal protection off-road thanks to the lowered helmet back and temple area
· Mips is designed to reduce rotational forces in accidents with oblique impact
· Individually adjustable for maximum comfort thanks to the smooth-running Run System Ergo Flex
· Height-adjustable visor
· The integrated fly screen reliably keeps insects away
Airflow Venting
One factor that strongly influences wearing comfort is the helmet's ventilation. The strategically sensible arrangement of the ventilation openings is crucial for optimal ventilation and de-ventilation of the interior. Air is guided purposefully inwards, channeled along the head, and can flow out again at the back. The head is thus always pleasantly tempered.
Ceramic Shell
All Alpina helmets manufactured using the Inmold process receive a robust Ceramic Shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched into the shape of the future helmet under strong heat and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body with high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic Shell is characterized by several qualities: it is break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable, and antistatic.
Edge Protect
Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that refines Inmold helmets. It covers edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's longevity.
Ergomatic
Proven hundreds of thousands of times and used in all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-stage automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap uphill and tighten it downhill - and in the event of a fall, it is not possible for the locking mechanism to open by itself.
Hi EPS
The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet during an impact. Hi-EPS ensures optimal protective effect while allowing for extra-thin wall thicknesses and narrow helmet shapes.
Inmold
In the Inmold production process, the polycarbonate helmet outer shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under great heat and high pressure. This creates a large-area and inseparable connection between the outer and inner shells. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
MIPS
MIPS is a system that protects against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements during an impact. The low-friction insert allows a sliding movement of 10-15 mm in all directions, thus reducing the rotational movement in the event of a fall. MIPS thus offers additional protection.
Run System Ergo Flex
With the Run System, the size of all Alpina helmets can be individually adjusted via a smooth-running rotary dial. The Run System Ergo Flex is Alpina's lightest and most comfortable adjustment system. The delicate construction nestles evenly against the head, thereby increasing protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted via a fine grid - a helmet cannot be adjusted more individually, smoothly, and comfortably.
Run System Ergo Flex Mips
The first adjustment system with integrated MIPS. The RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX MIPS offers individual, height-adjustable helmet adjustment. This combination not only increases comfort but also ensures additional safety in impacts with rotational forces.
Y-Clip
A helmet can only protect optimally if it remains in the optimal position during an impact. The adjustment and fixation of the two straps under the ear play a crucial role. The Y-Clip system guarantees millimeter-precise adjustment - in
