For the first time, a lightweight LITECELL PU midsole is integrated, ensuring all-day comfort without premature fatigue. Thanks to its perfect fit and high energy return, you can step precisely and move athletically and powerfully. Whether on simple trails or alpine routes – the grippy Vibram outsole gives you full control at all times. Should its tread wear out after thousands of kilometers, you can have the LOWA® EXPLORER GTX LO Ws resoled.

The LOWA® EXPLORER was developed as a modern hybrid that connects different outdoor worlds. The trail running-inspired LITECELL PU midsole is particularly light and provides long-lasting, comfortable cushioning.
Thanks to its traditional cemented construction, the LOWA® EXPLORER offers the reliability of a mountaineering boot - combined with the comfort of a modern outdoor shoe.
Excellent Grip
The Vibram outsole with 5 mm deep lugs provides reliable grip even in various weather conditions, especially on unpaved paths.
And if the sole wears out after numerous adventures - the LOWA® EXPLORER can easily be resoled if needed.
Waterproof & breathable
The waterproof GORE-TEX® membrane reliably keeps moisture out and, thanks to its high breathability, simultaneously ensures a pleasant foot climate inside. This keeps feet dry - and ready for many more kilometers.
When can I wear the LOWA® EXPLORER?
As a modern hybrid model, the LOWA® EXPLORER combines mountaineering boot and trail running technologies. The trekking shoe is therefore suitable for approaches, spontaneous day trips, or via ferratas. On longer hikes, it remains comfortable thanks to the trail running-inspired midsole.
Does the LOWA® EXPLORER offer grip even in wet conditions?
The special Vibram rubber compound remains grippy in almost all weather conditions, thus providing good traction even when wet. Thanks to its pronounced triangular profile, it is designed for versatile terrain, from forest roads to steeper terrain.
