Whether in the Dolomites or the most remote corners of the world: Alpine routes in mixed terrain, i.e., rock, ice, and snow, are among the most demanding undertakings in mountaineering. Our apparel must therefore meet the highest requirements to ensure the body remains ideally protected and doesn't cool down during the alternating phases of exertion and cold outdoor temperatures. This revised model of our established Ortles Hybrid TiroWool® Responsive Jacket impresses with its proven hybrid bodymapping structure: Durastretch inserts are used on the back and sides, which offer particularly comfortable wear thanks to their wool content (22 percent) and ensure freedom of movement due to the elastane. In addition, strategically placed insulation zones made of TirolWool® Responsive provide excellent body thermoregulation and can still warm even when wet. The TirolWool® Responsive material used is obtained from valuable wool from Tyrolean mountain sheep, and the insulation material is refined with Responsive yarns. The yarns contain thermoreactive minerals that recycle the far infrared energy (FIR) emitted by the body and slowly release it again. This creates sustainable, long-lasting warmth. If it gets really uncomfortable, the close-fitting, insulated, and adjustable hood at the back offers additional protection. Should temperatures – or intensity – rise, the jacket can be compressed and stowed in its own pocket. As part of the Salewa Committed collection, the jacket is equipped with a PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) impregnation. Furthermore, the Durastretch material consists of 22 percent fine merino wool, which guarantees comfortable wear against the skin.
