The softwood component in the middle of the ski, due to its lighter weight, provides more agility and maneuverability. The combination of both wood types across the entire ski length contributes to an optimal stiffness distribution of the skis and allows for more precise ski guidance. This construction offers highly athletic skiers a combination of agility and stability, which can also win the decisive hundredths of a second between victory and defeat.
